Saville Whittle Today

Today the company operates from a modern purpose-built office/warehouse facility located on Manchester's inner ring road. The company is 30 minutes from Manchester Airport and has excellent road and rail links to the rest of the country.

Most of the product ranges are stocked in Manchester, which enables prompt delivery with short lead times. The warehouse has a capacity of approximately 1000 pallets allowing a broad selection of standard stock products to be stored.

In the last few years the company has invested in the latest Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, which has now been integrated into the accounts package. This has given both internal and external sales staff the ability to have all accounts and contact details readily available on and off site, thus ensuring a high-level customer service.

The sales team is split by application area, which enables us to focus on our customer’s individual requirements.

The company’s sales strategy is to further develop relationships with its present and potential customer base. We are strongly committed to providing our customers with technical support, top quality products, excellent delivery service and competitive pricing.

Saville Whittle History

Thomas Saville Whittle began his working career as a dyestuffs chemist in Germany. Shortly after his return to the UK in 1911, he formed his own company based upon his knowledge of the dyestuffs industry and contacts within Europe. Links with Rohner AG of Switzerland (dyestuffs and chemical manufacturer) were established in the early 1930’s and still continue to the present day.

Bill and Richard Whittle, grandsons of the founder, joined the company in 1962 and 1966 respectively. They assumed the responsibility from their father for the management of the company in 1977 and to date have actively continued to expand and broaden the business.

Whilst maintaining important links with Textile dyes, the company has diversified into other industries such as Ceramic, Fine Chemical, Glass, Ink, Paint, Paper, Pharmaceutical, Plastic, Rubber and Textile Industries.

The family tradition continued when Andrew Whittle, son of Bill, joined the Sales Team in 1995.
