Heavy-duty detergents are designed to give excellent results in modern day washing machines and contain a number of ingredients, for example, water softeners, anti-redeposition agents, bleach activators, enzymes and Optical Brighteners.



Optical Brighteners

Optical Brighteners are dyes that absorb light in the ultraviolet and violet region of the electromagnetic spectrum, and re-emit light in the blue region. This creates a whitening effect by making materials look less yellow and by increasing the overall amount of light reflected to the eye.

Optical Brighteners are contained in all purpose soaps and detergents, and some light duty laundry aid products to enhance the appearance of garments during and after washing. Products suitable for detergents are: MEGAWHITE DMS, MEGAWHITE DMS-4, MEGAWHITE DT and MEGAWHITE BOP, which are all available as powders.
