Naphthol
Dyes
Through our long-standing association with Rohner Limited, Switzerland,
we offer a wide range of Naphtanilide Dyes. These are high quality
products for dyeing and printing cotton. The exceptional quality of
these dyes offers numerous advantages to the user as well as to the
garment manufacturer and the consumer.
Advantages to the Consumer:
Fashionable vivid colours, which lose none of their brilliancy even
after repeated laundering. As a result, the useful life of the fabric
is prolonged. It therefore pays to use such products.
Advantages for Dyeing and Printing Plants:
With the existing range of Naphtanilide products, current dyeing methods
allow fast and deep shades of Yellow, Orange, Scarlet, Red, Bordeaux,
Violet, Blue and Black to be produced.
The product range, which comprises of powder and liquid products is
made up of approximately 20 Naphtanilides, 15 Fast Bases and 15 Fast
Colour Salts. With a combination of these, a very wide range of shades
can be produced suitable for dyeing and printing cellulosic fibres.
The process consists of three stages:
-
Impregnation of the
goods with the Naphtanilide.
-
Development of the Naphtolated goods with a Fast Base or Diazo Fast Salt.
-
After treatment of
the dyed goods by soaping at the boil.
Exhaust Dyeing Process.
The main areas where Naphtanilide dyes are applied in the exhaust
dyeing process on cotton and other cellulosic fibres are package dyeing
(cheeses, beams, flocks) and hank dyeing. Piece goods can also be
dyed on the jig with good results.
Pad Dyeing.
Cotton fabric and other cellulosic fibres can be economically
dyed with Naphtanilides on a continuous dyeing range. This offers
the advantages of dyeing long runs with low dyestuff consumption.
The pre-treated goods are impregnated on the pad, given an intermediate
dry (hot flue, can dryer, stenter etc.), cooled and finally developed
on a pad and after-treated on a subsequent open-width washing range.

for the coloration of cellulosic, silk and viscose rayon fibres.
We offer a wide range of self-shades, which are compatible when
used in mixtures to produce binary and tertiary shades.
They are easily applied by exhaust and continuous dyeing and printing
methods to give good - excellent wash and light fastness. The ranges
can be split by their application methods:
Reactobond Bifunctional and Dichlorotriazine Dyes
– are used in exhaust dyeing at 35° and 60°C and also for continuous
dyeing and printing
Reactobond Vinylsulphone Dyes – Exhaust dyeing at
60°C, continuous dyeing and printing
Reactobond HE and HEXL Dyes – Exhaust dyeing at 80°C
Reactobond H Dyes – Printing
